Literacy - This week we are learning about the sound r.
Listen to the song that I will link below and practice writing the sound r on a piece of paper.
Check Seesaw for a picture of rhymes for letter/sound formation.

Look at the pictures of different things that begin with the sound r which I have linked below.
Can you find anything else that begins with the r sound in your home?
If you can, take a picture of it and post it on seesaw.

Count each winter object and write in the correct number. Colour the winter pictures.

Can you recount your Christmas Holidays?
What did you do? What presents did you get? What did you eat? Who did you spend Christmas with?
This can be told in picture form.
Draw a picture of the things you did during the Christmas Holidays and post it on Seesaw. You can use the mic to record yourself telling me what you did.

W.A.L.T: Count money and identify the 1p coin.
If you have a 1p coin, please show this to your child and explain that it symbolises 1 penny.

Count the Money in the purse (worksheet with 2 purses on it) and cut out the correct amount. Stick this above or below the purse.

Winter is here and it has been very cold and icy outside.
Do you think you could make your own paper snowflakes? you could hang them at your window!
Ask you parents to help you make these and post a picture of them onto Seesaw.
On a piece of paper, practice writing the r sound.
Can you think of 1 thing that begins with the r sound? Draw a picture of it and then using different colours, write lots of r sounds around the picture.
Post your picture onto Seesaw.

Matching the purse to the correct amount - count the coins in each purse and draw a line to match them to the correct amount.
Show that you write the letter p after each number to indicate that you are talking about money and pence.
Role-play - shop
Using toys you have at home, ask your parents to tell you how much they are (in pence to 10p) then you can write that amount down on a piece of paper for the cost of each toy.
Mathletics - please complete Simple Patterns activity that has been assigned.
This week we are learning about the Holy Family.
Please check Seesaw on Thursday for the story which you can read to your child.
The Holy Family lived in Nazareth.
Ask your child questions about the Holy Family - who was in the Holy Family? Do you know where Nazareth is? What kind of house do you think they lived in?
