Watch the video 'Life Cycle of an Apple Tree.'  Draw your own life cycle using pictures and arrows.  Include apple seeds, sapling, buds, flowers, apple.

Literacy: Big Book 'Handa's Surprise' - Plot

Watch the videoclip 'Parts of a Story.'  Tell your child that the plot is what happens in the story.  Ask your child to draw three pictures, one from the beginning, middle and end of the story.  Encourage them to choose three important parts which tell what happened in the story.  For example: Handa putting 7 fruits in a basket, one animal stealing the fruit and the tangerines falling into the basket.  Encourage your child to write a sentence to match one or all of the pictures.   

Numeracy: Data Handling- Bar Graphs

Complete worksheet 'Bar Graph Animals.'  Ask your child questions such as, 'Are there more flamingos or ducks?'  'How many more turtles are there than fish?'
