Week9/15.6.2020
Hello boys and girls! Well done to everyone who participated in the Healthy Kidz Sport's Day. I hope you learned lots of new skills and had fun. Your new reading books, mental maths and online activities have now been set. Our theme this week is 'Pirate Ships.' We are nearly at the end of Primary Two. You have all been wonderful children to teach. We have had great fun doing lots of art, music, acting, PE and learning! It has been an eventful year but hopefully one full of happy memories too.

World Around Us: Pirate Ships
Watch the BBC2 Two video-clip 'Sam Silver: Undercover Pirate' to find out what life on a pirate ship was like. Watch the video-clip 'How to make a Pirate Ship.' Have a go at making your own pirate ship. Remember to use a waterproof material for the bottom of the boat if you want your ship to float. Sort items for recycling into sets: waterproof and not waterproof. Be creative with items that you have available. Cocktail sticks taped together work well to make the mast. Encourage your child to make decisions and solve problems. If you add a mast that is too high or a heavy crows nest your ship may not balance. You could test your ship out in the bath or a paddling pool. Have fun!
