Theme 1: Knowing Me, Knowing You!
Carousel Activity:
The children had a wonderful time investigating the different parts of our theme, "Knowing Me, Knowing You". They developed key skills in questioning and in using Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities.
Self Portraits:
The amazing artists in P3 used their creativity to complete Self Portraits in graphite, pastel and paint. Do you recognise anybody you know?
Sam Maguire Visit:
We were all very excited to see the Sam Maguire cup, come to the school on Monday.
P.S.N.I Visit:
There was a lot of suspicious activity in Derrymacash today. The P.S.N.I put out a call, that a large number of unsavoury characters were spotted around the school. Apparently quite a few arrests were made.
Maths Week:
This week we have been doing a range of different math challenges. We have been focusing on the different areas of maths that we use in our day to day lives.
Storyboards:
The children have been very busy examining story structures. They have been investigating characters and settings. Today they had to work together in groups and create a storyboard on "Funny Bones".
Using I.C.T:
The class had a great time using the ICT suite today. The children were able to use a few math's packages to develop their counting skills.
Happy Halloween:
Today the P3 class was taken over by the undead. Do you recognise anybody?
The Recovery Position:
The Primary 3 class have been developing their first aid skills. If you have any injuries, they are here to help. They have been working on "The Recovery Position".

Dictionary Scavenger Hunt:
The competition was tough to see who would be the first to complete the scavenger hunt. There may have been some cheating!!

Odd Sock Tuesday:
Cambridge Barbers Belfast:
Mr. Gribben's flowing locks were out of control. The children said he needed a haircut A.S.A.P! Luckily Mr. Lawlor was here to save the day. He trained up the class in his academy and they all got to work.
Dr. Conor Doyle
Dr. Conor came to visit Primary 3 today. He told us all about his job as a G.P. He Knows a lot of things about how the body works and about diseases. We learnt a lot!!
Christmas Shoebox Appeal:
A big "Thank You" to the children who brought in gifts for our annual Christmas shoebox appeal.
Investigating the Senses:
As part of our topic we have been investigating the five senses. We carried out some experiments to test out some of the information we had discovered.
Hearing:
We made phones using old tins and string. We wanted to see if sound really travelled in waves. Everyone was amazed they could hear their teacher through the tin can phone.
Touching:
The children had to use only their sense of touch and adjectives to describe to class, what was in their hand. The class had to guess what the item was from the description.
Tasting:
The children tested out different kinds of food. They had to decide if they were sweet, salty, bitter or sour.
Problem Solving:
The children have been looking at solving word problems. They were solving the problems so quickly, that I set them a challenge!! They had to solve word problems within 50. I'm glad to say, challenge accepted and achieved!
Advent:
The Advent Wreath:
The children visited St. Patrick's Church to see the Advent Wreath. They had been learning about it in school.
Christmas Jumpers:
Everyone looked very festive in their beautiful Christmas jumpers!
Christmas Crackers:
Everyone in P.3 went absolutely "CRACKERS" with their crackers!!
Christmas Dinner:
A big "Thank You" to Mrs Walsh and her team. Our Christmas dinner was absolutely amazing!
Christmas Golden Mile:
The children had a great time running the Christmas Golden Mile. We were supported by the A.B.C Council.
Christmas Around the World:
The children in P3 & P4 had a Christmas assembly all about the different Christmas traditions around the world.
Christmas Cards:
The children made beautiful Christmas cards for their families.
S.R.C Christmas Panto:
Popcorn at the ready!! We all settled down for morning of "Look Behind You!"
Santa Visit to P3:
As we had all been good boys and girls throughout the year, Santa came to let us know if we had made it on to the good list.
Science Week 2024
The children in P3 had an amazing time experimenting, researching and investigating the World Around us.
World Book Day 2025
The children in P3 had a great time taking part in range of world book day activities. A big "Thank You" to F.O.S.P.A for the wonderful books.
Pancake Tuesday
We used up all our eggs, flour, milk and sugar before Lent begins, to make the most delicious pancakes.
Seachtain na Gaeilge 2025
The children in P3 are celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge from Monday 10th -Friday 14th March. Lots of fun activities planned.
