Theme 1: Knowing Me, Knowing You!
Carousel Activity:
The children had a great time coming around each table, researching some ideas that they wanted to find answers to during our theme of Knowing Me, Knowing You!. The came up with some amazing open ended questions for investigating.
Word Problem Wednesday
Every Wednesday during mathematics, as part of our P4 number curriculum, the children work in groups and in pairs to develop skills mathematical problem solving.

The children have collecting adjectives and developing skills in descriptive writing.

We completed our descriptions by adding in a defining sentence and ending with an evaluative sentence.
Part Four: Descriptive Text
Each table worked as a team to create character descriptions of out class worry monster, Frank.
Guess Who?:
The children have been doing self portraits, in a range of different artistic styles. Can you recognise anyone?
Declan Carville:
The children in P3 were very lucky to have local author, Declan Carville, in to talk about his books and his career. The children were very excited and had a lot of excellent questions to ask him.
Activity Based Learning:
Learning takes many different forms. We love doing our A.B.L. We learn so much through play, investigating, problem solving and working with others.

Christmas Shoe Box Appeal
A big "Thank You" to all the children who brought in a shoe box for this years appeal. A child in another part of the world will be so happy by what you have done.
Dictionary Detectives
The P3 dictionary detectives were out in force. They had to search out words and their meanings.
The Five Senses
As part of our theme, "Knowing Me, Knowing You!", the children have been focusing on the five senses. We have been researching and investigating the senses, while carrying out a number of scientific experiments.
Hearing: Sound Walk
We went on a really exciting sound walk around the school. It's amazing what we heard on our travels!!!
Sound Experiment: Walkie-Talkies
P3 made their own walkie- talkies and sent messages to each other. Who needs mobile phones!
Sight: Feely Box
We had great fun guessing what was in the feely box. We were able to use our great knowledge of adjectives, to describe what was in the box.
Cambridge Barbers Belfast
Sean and Rhys from Cambridge Barbers came in to visit today. They gave Mr. Gribben a haircut and told us all about their jobs as barbers. We didn't realise, that they have to use all their senses, every day, in order to make their clients happy. Sean trained up a few apprentices.
Taste Experiment:
The children had great fun experimenting with their taste buds. They tried out a selection of different items, describing the flavours and sensations they had on their tongues.
Just to Easy
The children had great fun logging on to their IPads today. They were investigating their Just to Easy accounts.
