Catholic Schools Week 2026
As part of our Catholic Schools Week celebrations, we visited St. Patrick's Church. We looked at all the different features of a Catholic Church.
Sets of 2
We have been developing our multiplication skills through practical maths.
Money
The children had great fun working practically with money. They were very good solving lots of words problems.
St Brigid Crosses
The children made St Brigid crosses, to honour one of the patron Saints of Ireland.
Man Made Planes
The children were very excited to make their own paper planes. We tested them out and were very surprised at how well and far they flew!
Scientific Sue
What an amazing day! Scientific Sue was fantastic. We discovered so about about science, focusing on gravity and forces. Mind Blowing!
Pancake Tuesday
The children had a fun time making some pancakes.
Place Value
We have been learning all about place value. We have been looking at the value of digits in number.
Hot Air Balloons
We discovered how hot air rises and cold air falls.
Measuring Wind
The children were learning how wind speed can have a major effect on how things move.
Lent
We are beginning Lent, a time to prepare for Easter.
Scratch Jr
The children have enjoyed doing some programming in U.I.C.T through Scratch Jr. There were some fantastic programmers.
Internet Safety Week
During Internet Safety Week, the children have been looking at the role that A.I and voice assisted technology play in our lives.
Weigh to Go!
They children have been experimenting with weight, using non standard units of weight.
Interesting Insects
As part of our topic "Things with Wings", the children created their own insects.
Balloon Rockets
We experimented with balloon rockets to see how fast and how far they could travel.
Trocaire
As part of our Lenten campaign, we visited the church to learn all about Uwamahoro and her family. We discovered how difficult their lives are compare to ours.
World Book Day 2026
F.O.S.P.A provided a beautiful book for every child in the class, to mark World Book day.
The Jolly Postman
As part of World Book day, we looked at the characters in the book "The Jolly Postman and Other peoples Letters". We completed a range of tasks related to the story.
Weighing: Standard Units
We used practical equipment to measure using standard units of weight.
Bon Voyage Miss Farren
We had a lovely party to say "Thank You" to Miss Farren for all her help over the last few weeks.
Fairy Cakes:
The children had so much fun making fairy cakes today. We used all our knowledge of instructions (Literacy) and Weighing (Maths) to help us create delicious buns.
Seachtain na Gaeilge 2026
The children in P3 had an amazing time during our Seachtain na Gaeilge events.
