Week6/ 25.5.2020
Hello Primary Two! Well done for all the hard work last week. Your new reading book, mental maths and online activities have been set. It is great to see that lots of you are accessing your reading books, mental maths and online activities on Education City. I will now keep only the previous weeks activities live to give you extra time to complete them. For some activities the children are in groups. Your child's activity will come up automatically on their Education City account. This week we are learning about sea creatures.

Literacy: Book 'Way Down Deep In The Deep Blue Sea' - Making a list
Show your child some examples of lists eg. to do lists, shopping lists. Explain that in a list you start at the top of the page and write the next thing underneath. You do not need to write a full sentence in a list. Sometimes one or two words is fine. In this story the little boy meets lots of sea creatures on his under-water adventure. Draw and write a list of some of the characters eg. the boy and the sea creatures. Encourage your child to start at the top of the page and list the characters down the page. It may be useful to draw about five dots evenly spaced down the side of an A4 page to help your child space out their list. Tell them to keep their pictures small. The children have done this before in class in order to make lists. You could extend this by asking your child to add an adjective eg. red starfish, big whale. Encourage them to sound out the words themselves.
Numeracy: Addition to 15 using a number-line
Complete worksheets '1 or 2 more than to 15'
