Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying our new topic 'Water.' This week we are learning about how sea creatures move. Your new reading books, mental maths and online activities have been assigned. You are all doing very well. Remember to always try your best. Gaelic skills have been assigned for Friday. There are lots of activities so it might be good to do a little bit every day.

Watch the video 'Under the Sea - Ocean Animal Moves.' Talk about the different ways the sea creatures move. Look at the 'Ocean Animal Movement Cards' to develop your child's vocabulary. Have a go at moving like a sea creature!

Literacy: Handwriting
Find things in your house beginning with 'h.' Listen to the 'Hh' song. Complete the 'Hh' worksheet and draw and label at least 3 things beginning with 'h' on the back.
Numeracy: Number Bonds for 7
We are learning about pairs of numbers which can be added together to make 7. These are: 0 add 7 makes 7, 1 and 6 makes 7, 2 and 5 makes 7, 3 and 4 makes 7, 4 and 3 makes 7, 5 and 2 makes 7, 6 and 1 makes 7 and 7 and 0 makes 7. Watch the video 'Number Pairs for 7.' Have a look at the 'Number Bond Owl Template.' Draw a similar template and ask your child to divide real objects into two sets to make 7.

Read through the 'Sea Creature Fact Powerpoint' with an adult. Choose one sea creature from the fact files. Draw a picture of the sea creature. Write a short report on it. You must include at least one sentence about their habitat, diet and an interesting fact about them.

Literacy: Information Book 'Ocean Animals from Head to Toe'
Listen to the information book 'Ocean Animals from Head to Toe.' Draw one sea creature from the book. Write the name of the creature and at least two facts about it.
Numeracy: Making Patterns (Colour)
Have a look at the worksheet 'Colour Repeating Patterns- Caterpillar' for reference. Make a short pattern of colours for your child to copy eg. two or three colours. Use any colourful objects you can find eg. lego. If you are lucky enough to have paint why not try cutting a few potatoes in half and adding paint to make potato print patterns. Have fun and remember to talk about the patterns. A pattern is a design that is repeated or goes 'over and over.'
